Dr. Peter Martindale is a native of the San Francisco Bay Area. He graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Southern California with a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences. He received his optometry degree from the University of California, Berkeley School of Optometry and was a member of the Beta Sigma Kappa international optometric honor society.
Dr. Martindale received clinical training at the Livermore Division of the Department of Veterans Affairs Palo Alto Health Care System, the Sacramento Veterans Affairs Medical Center, the Eastmont Wellness Center of the Alameda Health System, Kaiser Permanente Point West Medical Offices, and the California State University East Bay Student Health & Counseling Services Center.
The eyes have been of interest to Dr. Martindale for many years. He has enjoyed volunteering his time to improve the vision of those in his community who may not have access to eye care through traditional routes. While at USC, he acted as co-president for a local division of United For Sight to provide vision screening for students at local elementary schools. At UC Berkeley, he provided eye exams at no cost to low-income adults in the area through the Suitcase Clinic program.
Dr. Martindale specializes in many different types of contact lenses and glasses, as well as devices to help those with severe visual impairments. He treats diseases of the eye and is always happy to see you for your general eye exam. In his spare time, Dr. Martindale enjoys lap swimming.
